01 Challenge

A government agency for elderly care needed a way for officials, volunteers and families to assess how well older people carry out daily activities, following the BADL and IADL standards, and to plan their care.
02 Approach

We built a web application with an assessment engine for BADL and IADL, demo videos and illustrations of each assessment, separate UX/UI for officials, families and volunteers, and an API and data dictionary for integration.
03 Outcome

Delivered a designed, built and tested system with BADL and IADL demo videos, so officials, volunteers and families can assess older people and plan their care.

Overview

The Elderly Assessment System (EA) assesses how well older people can carry out activities of daily living, following the BADL (Basic Activities of Daily Living) and IADL (Instrumental Activities of Daily Living) standards. Officials, volunteers and families can use it to assess older people and plan their care. It gives officials and volunteers demonstration videos for reference and structured scoring to support care planning.
